 The highly advanced 'Pegasus' is a spyware - a malicious software created by Israeli-based cyber intelligence fırm NSO Group to hack computers & smartphones in order to gather data & serve it to a third party. The reason it is malicious is that it gathers data without the consent of the person.

Pegasus was first detected in 2016 & used spear phishing methods to infect a smartphone. But, after 3 years, in 2019, WhatsApp blamed Pegasus for infecting more than 1,400 phones through a simple WhatsApp missed call. This was done using zero-click vulnerability.
